I have been without internet for a few days, due to my trusty old TP-Link 9980 router deciding to fall over. I managed to get Plusnet to send me a “Hub One” which is twice the size of the one I had last October and which never lit up at all, which is why I dug out the 9980.
Anyhoo, it is working just as well as the 9980 was, the new size must mean that they have improved what was a miserable piece of junk. Setup today was quick and easy, speedtest.net is almost at the same speed it was with the 9980, which will improve. Or else. Now there is only the pain of family members to come, setting up WiFi on various devices. I am currently also allowing a SIL of my neighbour 3 doors away to use my WiFi, as the 92 yo neighbour is in hospital and very ill.
