Looking around, it looks like the reception problem has been solved with the use of dishes (Sky, I imagine).
The FVP 5000T gets some pretty good reviews around t’internet. So, I might focus on that.
Yups. There’s a cliff and a hill blocking 2 of the 3 masts that I “should” be able to pick up, so there are not many channels (BBC 1,2,4 cbbc, cbeebies, itv1,2, ch4 and some +1s). I have an original nowTV box (£5 with a 6 month voucher) that I use for BBC catchup.
So, all I want is a way to series record and pause live TV in addition to that.
Hmm, some food for thought there.
The main things I want it for are recording and pausing live TV, and series record.
Hello one and all. There’s something nostalgic around this time of year, and reminiscing about going to the newsagent for my Micro Mart is right up there…
Is Humax still the top choice for free to air TV? Freeview talks up this one:
I think that it might be a little…[Read more]
I had zoomed. Reset the zoom and all back to normal.

Well, I say!
Thanks. It’s not the toggle in developer tools.
Unless it is a site update and it was a cache refresh that coincided?
I’ll attach a screenshot of my desktop view. There’s no dev tools open. Could it be a site option, rather than browser?
Hmm.. not sure the quote is working?
Anyway – study aid – meaning it is for someone that is studying 😀
Seriously, they need to be able to research (Google stuff) and “do Office stuff” (Google Docs). So, genuinely not anything spectacular. It is currently a no tablets or PCs household. Not sure they even have smart phones. Even if they do, you…[Read more]
I some hit a keyboard shortcut to view the site in mobile (on my laptop). I’ve got the burger console and so on.
How do I switch back?
I haven’t shopped for pcs/laptops for several years now. Looks like you can get a Chromebook for under £200?
Are they any good?
Not often you hear things that way round, these days! 🙂
Just a random thing, as I know this is a tinkering community. If you change the .docx suffix to .zip, and then unzip it, you will find all the somewhat-humanly-readable XML files that comprise your document…
I signed up for their £5/month deal. Which is the cheapest Smarty can be if you use 0 data.
£5 only gets me 500mb data per month, but I’ve always been a wifi user, going back to when it was so much slower than wifi.
So. I’ll stick to my current plan. Good luck with Smarty! 🙂
I don’t have Image Magic installed, so I can’t test that. Sorry.
I can maybe help your scripting a little by example:
Overview of what I did:
- Used a timestamp instead of using /dev/random (usually better unless you’re doing more than 1 per second)
- Set your desktop,…
Are you sure that
$RANDOMis an actual value?
Have you tried some oldskool debugging:
echo "convert $1 -resize 1228800@ -format jpg /home/chris/Desktop/$n.jpg"
“Black Friday Week” appears to be ramping up this year.
Are there any genuine bargains out there? Or are they just standard prices with a lot of marketing?
I know it all sounds a bit hippy-ish, but positive thinking is scientifically proven to be good – so it’s good to know Bob’s keeping in touch and there’s a whole bunch of folk here wishing him well 🙂
Best wished for a good recovery!
You’re a cheeky chap, John 🙂
